Welcome to our page dedicated to our main bikes, currently a 2007 Honda ST1300 and a 2007 Suzuki Boulevard C50T as well as the fun rides, a 1996 Kawasaki ZX11 and a 2004 Suzuki Hayabusa.
I have been riding for over 30 years, since I was a kid. Starting out riding various dirt bikes, moving to sport bikes, then to a cruiser in 2005. In 2009 I changed from a cruiser to a sport touring bike to better suit the style of riding I enjoy.
While the ST1300 is my primary touring bike, I decided to start looking for a pure sport / super sport bike over the course of 2009/2010 winter months. In late March 2010 I came across a listing on Kijiji for a 1996 Kawasaki ZX11 at a price that I found acceptable. I went and checked the bike out and bought it later that day. I have loved riding the ZX around the city, being a lot lighter and more nimble than the ST1300 has been great fun this summer.
The ZX11 has been great, but one of the bikes I have always wanted was a Suzuki Hayabusa (Busa). Something about the bike has always drawn me towards it so I kept watching Kijiji over the next few months and found a 2002 in Lethbridge for a very good price. Little did I know that a friend of mine had also been looking and he was lucky enough to pick that one up. I kept searching until I came across a 2004 Busa in Calgary for only $500 more than the 2002 finally went for. I had my friend in Calgary check out the bike (thanks Buster!) and he came back with a positive report so I bought it, sight unseen.
The Nomad had been modified and customized to suit the riding we do. The picture below is what it ended up becoming before I put it all back to stock to sell it. The final look of the bike was incredible in my opinion. I did all the fairing mount fabrication work myself so was quite proud of the final product.
My wife was a passenger for the last several years until she decided to take the motorcycle safety course at the local college and get her license. This was an awesome program, teaching her to ride a bike in two and a half days, focusing on the low speed skills that are so difficult for first time riders. Once she completed the course we purchased the 1984 Yamaha Virago. This bike was in fairly rough shape, but the thought was to get something in a condition that it did not matter if it was dumped. Since then the bike has undergone an extensive rehab to bring it in line with what it should look like. We were never quite satified with the quality of bike she had with the Virago (likely primarily due to the age) so we upgraded her to a 2007 Suzuki C50T with 9800 km on it in September 2009.
